Hey hey, Christmas is upon us again! Yep. This year was a good one...we had an awesome Halloween party on October 26 (pics will be uploaded soon), and then the 14th Anniversary party on November 30. We decided to bring back the eating contest which hasn't been done for the last couple of years due to lack of interest. This year we got it going again with spicy quesdillas (made at Corazon by Hilary) as the food of choice. Contestants totaled 8, and even I entered this year! Of course, eating champ Gene entered, and when the shot was fired, the eaters took the bull by the horns and started shoving things in. I got about 2 and 1/2 in when I looked over at Graeme who was finishing number 3, and Taka was on 4 reaching for 5. At that point I noticed Gene who shoved both numbers 4 and 5 in and slogged them down. Uh-oh! It was all over! Gene had won again!
We'll have nice things happening on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and a year-end dance party bash on December 28 featuring DJ's Bozu and Shu. Of course, we'll have the countdown party happening on December 31 from 8 -? where we'll be escorting out 2013 and welcoming in 2014. I'm kind of happy coz even-numbered years tend to be luckier for me! Hope to see you there!

2013 and Going Strong
June of 2013. The world didn't end on December 21, 2012, we didn't fall into the ocean, no tremendous hole swallowed us up, no incredible blizzards ala Day After Tomorrow. The only thing we have to worry about is a little closer to home - jobs, debt problems, encroaching security problems on the Net, and, yes, North Korea. Being in Japan, North Korea is just across the Japan Sea, which makes it too close actually, although NK's bark is probably worse than its bite. The most recent news from the strange country is that they have nuclear weapons on one hand, and they want to "talk" with the US...and Obama ain't havin that one. You get rid of those weapons, and THEN we'll talk, is the general consensus. I really don't know what North Korea is thinking...we (and by we I mean the rest of the normal world) can squash it in a few minutes, right? Do they have a death wish or something? Doesn't everyone agree? Anyway, we'll see what happens. And you know what the ancient Chinese curse is, right? "May you live in interesting times." We certainly do. I just hope they don't decide to lob a radical nuclear bomb over the Japan sea right onto my dinner plate...
